Ways to Give

Annual Giving

The Pioneer Movement welcomes contributions of all levels to assist while supporting our student-athletes in their quest for excellence. Donor benefits begin at the $110 level, annual giving can be specified to a number of designations including all of our 17 NCAA sport programs as well as Athletic Director’s Excellence Fund, Women’s Athletics, Summer School Fund, Club & Rec Sports, Sports Medicine and Strength and Conditioning. Click here to see the Pioneer Movement Benefits chart . To learn more about the Annual Fund giving, please contact Director of Development Ryan Lowe at (303) 871-3720.

Capital Campaigns

Gifts towards capital campaigns allow us to expand our facilities and provide the best environment for our student-athletes. There are Division-wide and sport-specific priorities opportunities to improve our facilities. As of 2015, the Division-wide priorities include:

  • Outdoor/Indoor Tennis Facility
  • Hockey Locker Room Renovation
  • Lacrosse Stadium Expansion
  • Sports Medicine/Training Room Expansion & Renovation

There are a number of sport-specific priorities as well. To learn more about capital campaign initiatives, please contact Associate Vice Chancellor of External Affairs Ryan Peck at (303) 871-2785.

Endowments

An endowment gift is one of the most powerful gifts you can give to Denver Pioneer Athletics. This gift provides a steady source of scholarship assistance and lessens the financial burden for tuition costs yearly. An endowment gift allows you to forever support Denver Pioneer Athletics, and will leave a lasting impression on the lives of our student-athletes. All donors have the opportunity to give to the endowment. An initial gift of $50,000 payable over five years is required to begin an endowment, and there are a variety of giving options to fulfill this commitment.

"Friends of" Groups

In addition to your Pioneer Movement donation, there are opportunities to donate directly to a team’s operating budget. The Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Hockey, and Men’s Lacrosse teams all have “Friends of” groups, which allows your donation to directly benefit the day-to-day operations of the team; however, these gifts do not receive benefits associated with giving directly to the Pioneer Movement annual fund. For details regarding the Pioneer "Friends of" groups, please contact supportpioneers@du.edu .

Gifts-in-Kind

Another way to give to Denver Pioneer Athletics is through gifts-in-kind. These gifts include, but are not limited to, providing team meals and donating goods or services. Contact the Pioneer Movement office for questions regarding the value of a gift-in-kind. These gifts will be counted as a Pioneer Movement donation and will qualify you for appropriate benefits at the corresponding giving level.

Planned Giving

Pioneer Movement members can help insure that the excellence of Denver Pioneer Athletics continues in perpetuity by making a planned gift. Our staff can help you determine the gift plan that best meets your financial and philanthropic goals. Planned giving in support of Denver Pioneer Athletics can be accomplished through outright gifts, bequests, trusts, annuities, IRA designations and many other planning methods. To learn more about planned giving, please contact Associate Vice Chancellor of External Affairs Ryan Peck at (303) 871-2785.
