Scholarship Endowments

An endowment gift is one of the most powerful gifts you can give to Denver Pioneer Athletics. This gift provides a steady source of scholarship assistance and lessens the financial burden for tuition costs yearly. An endowment gift allows you to forever support Denver Pioneer Athletics, and will leave a lasting impression on the lives of our student-athletes. All donors have the opportunity to give to the endowment. An initial gift of $50,000 payable over five years is required to begin an endowment, and there are a variety of giving options to fulfill this commitment.

Coaching Endowments

The University of Denver has a storied tradition of academic success and athletic achievement. This success is directly related to the quality coaches who are among the best in the country in their respective sports. In an increasingly competitive Division 1 marketplace, retaining and attracting coaches of the highest caliber has become more and more challenging. 

Coaching endowments serve as an incentive for prospective coaching candidates and a critical resource for retaining successful coaches. These endowments work similar to endowed professorships, utilizing the payout from these funds to support the salaries of head and assistant coaches, freeing up resources to augment their annual operating budget. 

In February 2018, DU secured its first head coaching endowment for the Men's Hockey program, and since then have added Men’s Lacrosse, Men's Soccer, and Gymnastics to the list of programs that have been endowed through this initiative.
